When the Caviezels went to adopt their second child, they were first offered a healthy baby girl, but a five-year-old girl with a brain tumour from the Guangzhou region of China also needed a home. The Caviezels reasoned that a healthy baby would be more likely to be adopted by another family and that the child with the tumour had a greater need for a home.

"Jesus" was at the Women of Faith conference a few months ago and he told this story and it was so awesome!!!! When he speaks of his daughter his eyes shine!!! It is so sweet and touching. He also told the story of when Mel Gibson asked him to play Jesus in The Passion. After he accepted the job , Mel told him Jim you have to think about this because once you play Jesus, Hollywood will crucify you and you may never work again, and his immediate answer was I know...can I have the part?
That was so moving to me, even now thinking about it , I get monster size goosebumps!!! Love this man!!
